Figure Drawing

Figure Drawing Class

Saturdays 2:30 – 5:30pm

8 sessions: October 28 – December 16

tuition: $410

instructor: Jim Bak

Figure drawing can be a challenging subject but when broken down into simple concepts the process becomes much more manageable.

In this class, we will explore the concepts of Shape Language, Gesture, and Structure through the use of plaster cast studies, master studies, and drawing from live models.

Over the course of 8 weeks, we will analyze the fundamentals of drawing form, using shape and line to construct three-dimensional pieces that we can then use to construct our figures.

About the instructor:

Jim Bak lives and works in Berkeley, California. He holds a BFA from the Academy of Art University and has taught for over a decade in institutions throughout the Bay Area including Berkeley City College, the Academy, and the Art Institute.
